First Communion

Our First Communion is something that we all look forward to. It is a special day when we receive Jesus’ body for the first time. Our Year 4 children have been preparing for this special Sacrament for many weeks and were delighted to receive the wonderful gift of the Eucharist this week. We gathered together as a community with all our families and friends at St. Joseph’s Church and celebrate the real presence of Christ in the bread, wine and gathered community. Mrs Boylan made us a beautiful cake which we shared with our friends in school on Monday.

“Then He took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me. ‘ And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.'”
Luke 22:19-20
