Year 3 led prayers to mark the beginning of Advent. They explained that Advent is a time of waiting in joyful hope for the coming of Jesus and shared a reading from the book of Isaiah.

The children told us that the first candle on the Advent wreath is sometimes called the prophecy candle and shared Isaiah’s prophecy that a pure young woman would give birth to God’s son.

The children then asked children across school to make an advent promise to hang on our tree.
