During the week of Monday 30th June, all classes in school took part in our latest inter-house sporting competition, a mixed year-group Euro Football Tournament. Year 3 and 4 combined and were split into 12 teams, each 5-a-side. Each team picked a European country out of the bag at random to represent for the tournament. The children came to school on Friday 4th July wearing their country’s colours for the competitive games that took place.Â
3 games were played at a time, which meant there was little rest and lots of action for most of the morning, with each child playing at least 4 competitive games. Scores were tallied and points collected by Mr. Sharrock who was armed with his clipboard and fixture list! At the end of the fixtures, it was European minnows Scotland that came away victorious, winning all of their games and claiming maximum points!
The children had an amazing time and it was great to see that everyone got involved, whether they like football or not, every child in our school was active for a long period of time and teachers were so proud of the sportsmanship and fair-play on show. As well as some incredible footballing talent, there was an awful lot of positivity and kindness! Well done everyone.
