Year 5's Anglo Saxon Visitor

Year 5 had a wonderful morning when Mildreth, the Anglo-Saxon, came to visit. She taught us some of her greetings then told us the epic tale of Beowulf.

We recreated the seven kingdoms and learnt all about the daily lives of Anglo-Saxons including how they built their houses out of wood, straw and poo! She gave us some historical sources to examine and we had to try and guess what they were or what they were used for.

Finally, she showed us how to be fierce warriors to fend off any enemies. We learnt so much and had great fun.
